Yard Sale - June 17, 2004 |
June 17, 2004Each year in June, the Fire Lookouts meet at Arcadia Park to have a pot luck, and to have a white elephant yard sale, where each person donates their items to the organization. The sales from the products goes to the funds for the organzation. |
|
| Almost every meeting of this group has something to do with food, and that is a good thing! | |
| After the pot luck, Pam walks around with her note pad. This sale is a silent auction where each person walks around and puts a written bid on a paper next to the item. | |
| Ric eyes a few items as he makes his bids. | |
| This was popular for obvious reason. | |
| This hand made lantern box was the highest bid object and I think it went for over a hundred dollars and some. This photo does not show the qaulity and uniqueness of this item. | |
| Old insulators are favorites for fire lookouts because we use them for
our chairs.
Why is that? |
|
| All the lookouts make their last bids as the sun starts to set. | |
| Finally the last call and the money is collected. This is just one of the fun "ground" events our group has. Many of the members of the groups are not lookouts, but are supporters of the program. |
