October 24, 2004After the training of the volunteers for the Fire Watch program, a couple of volunteers pose next to my truck at Bear Divide for some press photos. (Sorry I forgot these volunteers names... bad me.) |

Kermit, me, and Harry? pose for the Volunteer Fire Watch photo that we
were going to use for a future press release. As a result, I was
interviewed on Channel 2, 4 and 7 news and I have a copy of each broadcast
for my memoirs.
The following weekend, Kermit set up his Fire Watch table at Bear Divide and Chuck set up his table at Big Tujunga Road. Not 30 minutes after both stations were set up did it start to rain, and rain, and rain. By the following weeks, the rain came hard and the Fire Watch program after being 30 minutes old was stood down. Oh well, its better we were not needed. We still have the signs and the procedures if needed for the future. |
